Spent the August Bank Holiday weekend down in London so I could attend a performance by the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms. I have done this over the past few years always enjoy the weekend as the weather has always been rather kind. This year was no exception – in fact, it was the warmest August Bank Holiday on record!
I managed to take in a lot of religious building and services whilst down. Paid visits to St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral and the Brompton Oratory and took lunchtime communion both at St. Paul’s and Westminster Abbey. On the Sunday attended High Mass at All Saints, Margaret Street and Evensong at St. Bride’s, Fleet Street. I was made to feel very welcome at all these places. See my separate posts for more information and pictures. Unfortunately, Westminster Abbey enforces a strict no photography regime so no pics.
