I’ve decided to add another wee section to this website dedicated to the Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross. These are the series of fourteen images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. They are derived from the traditional processional route of the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem symbolizing the path Jesus took on that day. Theses have become one of the most popular devotions and can be found in many Western churches.
I have normally taken to capturing Station 6 as this depicts Veronica wiping the face of Jesus – one of my dear friends is called Veronica, so this has become a kind of ritual for me. However, in a few churches or cathedrals the full set is so very lovely and moving that I have captured them all. I will upload these ones onto the site.
